Our Beauty Consultants hand-picked some of this season's most commonly asked questions and
chimed in with some expert beauty advice.

frequently asked questions - you've asked...and they've answered!
A1: How can I make my foundation look more natural?
When it comes to natural-looking foundation, there's one thing to remember-a little goes a long way. Start with a small amount to lightly cover your face, then, if you need more coverage in certain spots, lightly pat concealer over the spot with the pad of your ring finger, and top with a dusting of powder.
A2: What's the easiest way to make my makeup go from day to night?
Nighttime makeup calls for more pigment, and the easiest way to make this change is on your lips. Switch to a deep, bold shade, like a creamy burgundy, or go brighter with a classic matte red mouth. Even a shiny gloss in a fun shade like fuchsia is appropriate for night. Just remember that the less sheer a lip colour is, the more "nighttime" your makeup will appear.
A3: I don't like to wear a lot of makeup, but I want to look put-together. What are the basics I need to get by?
Here's a low-maintenance look; blend concealer to cover dark areas around the eyes and any skin discolourations like blemishes or redness. Then dust powder over face-no need for foundation in this routine. Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks, one coat of mascara to your lashes and a sheer gloss over lips-and you're done!
A4: How can I make my pores smaller?
Pore size is inherited, so there's little you can do to make them smaller. Focus on taking care of your skin-keeping skin clear and smooth is key to flawless foundation coverage, which can help minimize the look of pore size, but not change it.
A5: I wear glasses. Are there rules about wearing eye shadow I should know?
There aren't special rules, but there are tricks that will help your eyes pop! With fingertips, apply and blend a neutral shadow from lid to just shy of the brow bone. Then for extra definition and a clean finish, curl lashes and apply one coat of dark waterproof mascara.
A6: What's the best way to apply mascara?
Place the brush at the base of your lashes and glide it evenly through to the tips, wiggling or "zig-zagging" the brush to help separate and define. This will leave a smooth, even coating of mascara on your lashes.
A7: How do I apply false eye lashes?
Apply the false eyelash as close to your natural lash line as possible, pressing the lash down for a few seconds on the outside of the eye. After you've applied the false lashes, curl them along with your real lashes and apply mascara.
A8: What's the best way to apply nail polish?
Roll the nail polish bottle gently between your palms for uniform consistency. Apply 2 coats to clean, dry nails. Stroke lightly down the center of nail, then down each side. The first coat will dry to the touch in about 2 minutes if consistency is normal and not applied too heavily. To allow the polish to harden, allow 15 to 30 minutes.
A9: Should my eye shadow match my dress?
If you're looking for ways to make your eyes stand out, you don't want your eyeshadow to necessarily match your dress—what you might want to try are shadow shades that contrast your eye colour. But if you want to match your eyeshadow to your dress, think sheer, or go darker. For example, if your dress is lavender, a deep, smokey plum shadow on lids will look modern and fresh.
A10: How do I keep my foundation looking fresh without having to touch it up all the time?
Here's a tip: after applying foundation, dust on a little loose powder, and then buff your face with a clean powder brush. This will give your face a great polished look and also help set the foundation, making it last longer.
A11: What are your makeup tips for brides?
The last things you want on your big day are big makeup hassles. To avoid makeup meltdown, choose a long-lasting foundation and lipcolour, and waterproof mascara. Also, don't forget to blush-complexions get dulled in photos, so apply an extra pop of your naturally-flushed cheek colour before walking down the aisle.
